what is WDM ?

WDM is an optical fiber communication technology, also known as wavelength division multiplexing technology. It combines two or more optical carrier signals of different wavelengths through a combiner at the transmitting end and couples them into the same optical fiber for transmission. At the receiving end, the optical signals of various wavelengths are separated by a splitter, and then further processed by the optical receiver to restore the original signal. WDM technology is a relatively advanced optical fiber communication technology that can use multiple optical wavelengths to send data on the same medium.
